Design of the first Medela electric breast pump that can be worn directly in the bra
In close collaboration with Medela, Milani has developed the first electric breast pump from Medela that can be worn in the bra, allowing mothers to express milk discreetly and comfortably. The new Freestyle Flex not only impressed mothers, but also international design juries and was awarded the iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
Milani accompanied Medela from the design concept to the realization and production of the new breastpump.
Design of a discreet, wearable hands-free breast pump with a modern lifestyle look
Medela is the world leader in breast milk products. In close collaboration with Medela, Milani has redesigned the Freestyle Hands-Free Breastpump with the needs of breastfeeding mothers in mind. The result is the first bra-wearable electric breastpump that allows all mothers to combine breastfeeding with an active lifestyle.
Breastfeeding mothers can wear the discreet, ultra-light breastpump inconspicuously inside their bra while doing other things. Small, powerful and equipped with a USB rechargeable battery, the new Freestyle Hands-Free lets you pump anytime, anywhere.
The anatomically shaped collection cups are specially designed for better milk flow and comfort, and are easy to clean. The hand-friendly, iconic design of the pump fits into any handbag and is formally integrated into the Medela product line. The touch display is easy and intuitive to use and hygienic to keep clean. Tactile and visual details such as the textile cord and the different surface finishes give the medical device a subtle lifestyle touch.
If desired, the new breastpump can be connected to the Medela Family App and supports mothers in breastfeeding and expressing milk.
