Innovation concept and product design for Fissler
Product innovation for cookware
Fissler, known for its high-quality cookware, has made it its mission to inspire passionate cooks. Together with Milani, Fissler wanted to launch a new line of innovative cookware. But how can a pot create a new cooking experience? Through close observation and attention to detail, Milani and Fissler succeeded in finding new solutions for cooking needs. intensa® and solea® were convincing with world firsts and set new standards in functionality and aesthetics.
The lid of the intensa® pot has an integrated thermostat that changes color as soon as the water heats up - saving energy during cooking. The solea® pot with its practical glass lid has comfortable metal handles that stay cool on the stove and are ovenproof. Condensation simply runs back into the pot, keeping the stove clean. The new Pour-Out feature makes it easy to pour liquids by simply sliding the lid. The conical shape allows pots of the same size to be stacked for the first time, saving space in the kitchen. The rimless lids can be conveniently hooked onto the pot rim for seasoning and stirring.
SUCCESS WITH END USERS AND DESIGN PROFESSIONALS
Both pots impressed customers as well as international design juries. intensa® won the prestigious international iF DESIGN Award in 2006 and solea® in 2008.
intensa® proved to be an immediate sales hit: The first series was sold out even before its launch at the Ambiente international trade fair in Frankfurt. "Outstanding design plus sophisticated functionality. This is absolutely new and unique. A breakthrough!" said Frank Buchholz, celebrity chef from Mainz, Germany, about Fissler's Intensa cookware.
Both series from Fissler have shown that there is potential for innovation even in supposedly familiar everyday products if a company knows the needs of the end consumer and addresses them skillfully.
