Motorcycle apparel between protection and style – product design and brand development for Taveri Moto

For the startup Taveri Moto, Milani developed the design foundation of a new motorcycle apparel brand. In addition to product design and the fashion design of the first collection, a consistent brand presence was created across all touchpoints—from the garments themselves to the visual communication.

When protective gear doesn’t fit everyday life

Taveri Moto was founded as a startup because existing solutions fell short. The goal was to create clothing that works throughout the entire day—on the motorcycle, at work, and beyond. Existing products often require a change: functional protective gear for riding, everyday clothing for everything else. This is where friction occurs.

The challenge was to resolve this tension while building a new brand from the ground up. Motorcycle apparel needed to provide protection without looking like traditional protective gear and integrate naturally into daily life. At the same time, a clear brand identity was required to communicate this ambition credibly and create orientation in the market.

Building a brand and product from the ground up

Milani supported Taveri Moto at an early stage and led the creative direction of the startup. The starting point was a clear belief: everyday life, movement, and motorcycling should not be separated. This led to a distinct positioning that brings function, comfort, and style together.

Based on this, product design, brand design, and art direction were developed in parallel. The design direction combines the precision of Swiss craftsmanship with the aesthetic of 1960s racing culture, creating a recognizable and consistent identity.

At the same time, the collection was developed to unify protection, comfort, and everyday usability. Materials, cut, and functionality were carefully defined to allow seamless use without the need to change outfits. In parallel, a coherent brand presence was established, forming the foundation for market entry.

Successful market entry with a clear position

With its first collection, Taveri Moto entered the market as a clearly positioned startup. Product, brand, and communication were aligned to make the offering immediately understandable: motorcycle apparel that provides protection while fitting naturally into everyday life. The collection combines advanced protective technologies with the style of 1960s racing legends, resulting in a distinctive design language that defines the brand.

Sustainable production was not an add-on but part of the concept. Taveri Moto did not produce for stock but only once a significant share of demand was secured. This reduced risk, required less upfront capital, and avoided overproduction.

From the outset, the collection established a clearly positioned market offering. Product, brand, and presence were consistently aligned and easy to grasp. Milani led this process and created the foundation for Taveri Moto to enter the market quickly and with precision.
