Empowering teenage girls to be period ready

Valley Electronics AG is an internationally operating and researching medical technology company with a track record in intelligent fertility solutions. The Teena period monitor was developed to help young women understand their own bodies and develop a sense of the different phases of the menstrual cycle. The goal of the collaboration with Milani was to develop a product design that appeals to the young target group and empowers them to deal confidently with puberty and periods.

A product design tailored to the target group of teens

The look and feel of Teena is tailored to the needs of teens and pre-teens: The iconic design conveys medical expertise with playful ease. Together with the connected app, the smart menstrual tracker brings young women closer to the cycle and their own bodies.

Milani deliberately designed the medical product to be playful. The design language borrows from a cartoon character with the colorful feet. The main color is a rich, matte white that reflects reliability and medical expertise. The meter is intuitive to use and easy to clean.

The friendly aesthetics and easy operation make the tracker a likeable little helper that young people can use to get to know their bodies better and that can easily show up in their bedrooms.
